Debating is fun, noisy and a great way of airing different points of view! Last year, over 400 primary schools were involved in debates nationwide. Fifth and sixth class from St Aengus took part this year for the first time, and have argued their way toward a place in the Donegal Final.
From Sixth Class, Leo Doherty and from Fifth, Leahrose Davis, Allannah Curran, Rachel Bradley and John Mc Daid have presented themselves and their school with great success.
We are all so very proud of them and have enjoyed supporting them throughout the journey. Fourth Class with Ms Grant joined us in the Semi Final at Mt Errigal in Letterkenny for a great afternoon of persuasion!
We were delighted with the win 🙂
The senior end of the school recently had talks about staying safe online and Sixth Class then completed individual projects based on social media and internet safety awareness.
The shared their findings with us all at our assembly on Friday. We learned a lot about the different social media sites, staying safe online and cyber bullying.
Here are a few photos from the sixth class assembly.
They they sang a song about staying safe on the internet. You can have a listen and learn it too!
Four class spent a wonderful reading lesson with first class by participating in a reading bus.
Both classes had a great time reading together and listening to lots of stories!
Some of our students recently took part in a local talent competition fundraiser for funds for the Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana called ‘Pop Goes Primary’. This is a competition for primary school children from all the local schools.
St Aengus was represented by our wonderful 5th class girls, Michaela who sang a solo and Jade, Leahrose, Lauren and Rachel who together made up Little Mixture.
We are so proud of them and their wonderful achievement on making it through. They sang beautifully on the night!

We were delighted to welcome on Monday a few past pupils and recent winners of the Donegal Intermediate Football Championship Final Replay. For the first time in their history Burt lifted the Donegal Intermediate Football Championship title beating Milford by two points in the final replay.
The whole school cheered as they entered the school hall with the trophy. We listened to their words of advice and encouragement and afterwards took class photos with the champions.
